Orange County, California, Property Crimes Attorney

Grand Theft ▪ Shoplifting ▪ Fraud ▪ Robbery ▪ Burglary

Theft and property crimes include a variety of criminal charges including grand theft, armed robbery, embezzlement, welfare fraud, shoplifting, vandalism, and a host of other crimes. Depending on the seriousness of the violation and your prior record, could be charged as either a felony or misdemeanor. A conviction for either one, however, could have serious consequences on your ability to get a job or professional license, get into college, or be put in any position of trust.

Experienced Orange County Theft Crimes Defense

I have represented more than 2,000 clients, obtained over 1,000 charge dismissals, and handled over 100 jury trials. A lifetime resident of Orange County, I represent people throughout Southern California who are facing charges such as:

  • Shoplifting
  • Vandalism
  • Receiving stolen property
  • Embezzlement
  • Welfare fraud, check fraud, credit card fraud, and other types of fraud
  • Internet fraud or identity theft
  • Grand theft or grand theft auto
  • Burglary
  • Robbery or armed robbery

I always work hard to help my clients obtain reasonable bail or bond, get released on their own recognizance, or take advantage of other options to out of jail. If appropriate, I also focus on helping clients take advantage of diversion programs to limit the damage a theft conviction could create in your life. For example, there are two California programs to help people charged with property crimes pay back their victims so they can get on with their lives:

  • Civil compromise: Under this program, your criminal charge could be dismissed if your victim and the court agree to receive restitution for the crime. This is frequently an option when you are charged with stealing from a family member or an organization that does not want publicity.
  • Diversion: Upon recommendation of the prosecutor, your sentence could be suspended and you could be diverted to a program in which you complete community service, pay restitution, attend counseling, or meet other condition ordered by the court.
