California Supreme Court held that an anonymous 911 tip contemporarily reporting an assault with a firearm and accurately describing the perpetrator, his vehicle and its location is sufficient to justify an investigatory detention.

U.S. Supreme Court has held that a traffic stop subjects a passenger to a 4th Amendment seizure. Hence, a passenger has standing to challenge the detention with a motion to suppress evidence.
